We are looking for a permanent, full time,
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join us in our brand new facility in Acheson! The successful candidate will have the ability to perform commercial vehicle inspections, repair and service a wide variety of commercial vehicles including heavy-duty trucks and trailers; all while ensuring quality workmanship and working as a member of a strong team.
Responsibilities:
- Completing variety of repairs and/or servicing on heavy duty trucks and trailers
- Perform and complete thorough and accurate commercial inspections on truck and trailers
- Troubleshooting a variety of electrical and mechanical problems on heavy duty truck and trailers
- Successful candidate must supply their own tools
Education & Experience:
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic designation is required
- Certification to complete Provincial Commercial Vehicle Inspections is required
- Knowledge and experience in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems
- Truck & Trailer Welding: 5 years (preferred)
- Team player with a strong commitment to customer service
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to learn in-house programs
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties
- Interest in continually upgrading skills and knowledge in trade
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills
- Have a strong mechanical aptitude and have the ability to handle multiple tasks
