Greetings from all of us at the Prince George branch. In December we celebrated our first year in business here in BC’s Northern Capital. We had our Christmas party on December 2nd, Mitch and Chris from the mothership were on hand for the celebration. We ate dinner and attended a WHL game between our hometown Cougars and the Vancouver Giants, our team won 6-2. There were many prizes handed out and a few beverages consumed (responsibly).

One year awards were handed out to Spencer Martin, Hannah Maidment, Eric Andrew, and Dan MacDonald, congratulations team! As of this date, we have hired 3 new employees to keep up with a busy rig-up season. Welcome, Tod Johnson, Rudy DeToit, and Daniel Sider. Not to be left out, Francois and Mike will soon celebrate their first anniversary of employment.

Although this time of year is usually busy with logging, we are hair-straight-back rigging out coal boxes and pup. We have four custom coal boxes being fitted on Western Stars matched up to Peak 21’ tridem pups that will head north upon completion.

The new Peak quad logger is on site and we are excited to show it to our customers. This is predominantly a logging town but mining is definitely a growing concern.

The announcement that the Site C dam will be completed is great news for the Northeast and with Coal being busy and oil recovering, look for a lot of business to be done in the Chetwynd, Dawson Creek and Fort St John area, I will be visiting that area every month.

Rio Tinto Kitimat has announced that the 500 million dollars second tunnel for their power plant will be completed in 2018. There MUST be some business that we can extract from this project.

We are taking part in community events as well, we are a major sponsor of Kinsmen Stand-up For Charity 21 comedy fundraiser that is raising money for the Salvation Army Foodbank on January 27th.

All-in-all it looks like it will be a busy year for S4.

Cheers, Mike
