Tip-Over Prevention at Summit

The Apsco Inclinometer is now available at Summit Trailer, offering the best in tip-over prevention technology. The state of the art system assists operators in monitoring their slope angle in real time. The digital in-cab display allows operators to make an informed decision when unloading their truck or trailer.

Being able to quickly and efficiently bring awareness to the driver is essential when preventing an accident. Apsco Inclinometers have three different ways to alert the driver: A control buzzer, warning light, and/or hoist interrupt valve. These important features immediately alert the operator to an unsafe operating angle.

The MEMS single axis inclinometer continuously monitors and compares real-time slope angle with safe preset slope parameters. As seen in the image below, even the slightest slope can be enough to cause tipping if the material sticks to the top of the box. Even a small shift in a loads center of gravity can cause the unit to become unstable and dangerous.

By installing an Apsco Inclinometer, it will help to create a safer working environment. By increasing the awareness of the unit angle and how it has shifted (while unloading) the risk of a rollover is significantly reduced.
